Indonesia, officially the National Republic of Indonesia is a country in Southeast Asia. It is the archipelago country by area, the first-most moslem Islam Religion populous country (with over 87,6% people), 6,96% is Christian, 2,9% Catholic, 1,69% Hindu, 0,72% Buddha, 0,05% Kong Hu Cu, 0,51% is the other religion, Indonesia is once the most populous democracy in the world. It is bounded by the Indonesian Ocean on the south, the Indian Ocean in the west, the South China Sea on the south, and the Pacific sea on the east. It shares land borders with Timor Leste, Australia, and New Zealand to the South; Singapura, Malaysia, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar (Burma), Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, and Philippines to the North; Sri Lanka, Maldives, to the west. and Papua Nuginea on the East, India is in the vicinity of Sri Lanka and the Maldives. India’s Andaman and Nicobar Islands share a maritime border with Thailand and Indonesia.
The Indonesia is an Asian Race home, The Indonesia began to develop during the Hindu-Buddhist kingdom thanks to trade relations with neighbor countries as well as more distant countries such as India, China and the Middle East region. Hinduism entered Indonesia is estimated at the beginning of the Christian era, brought by travellers from India, among others: Maha Resi Agastya, which in Java is known as the Batara Guru or Dwipayana and also travellers from China namely Buddhist travellers Pahiyen. In the 4th century in West Java there was a Hindu-Buddhist style kingdom, namely the Tarumanagara kingdom which continued with the Sunda Kingdom until the 16th century.During this period two major kingdoms emerged, namely Srivijaya and Majapahit. During the 7th to 14th centuries, the Srivijaya Buddhist kingdom flourished in Sumatra. The Chinese explorer I-Tsing visited the capital city of Palembang around 670. At the height of its glory, Srivijaya ruled the area as far as Central Java and Cambodia. The 14th century also witnessed the rise of a Hindu kingdom in East Java, Majapahit. Patih Majapahit between 1331 and 1364, Gajah Mada, succeeded in gaining power over the area which is now mostly Indonesian and almost the entire Malay Peninsula. The legacy of the Gajah Mada era includes the codification of law and the formation of Javanese culture, as seen in the epic Ramayana.
The entry of Islamic teachings around the 12th century, gave birth to expansionist-style Islamic empires, such as Samudera Pasai in Sumatra and Demak in Java.The emergence of these kingdoms gradually brought an end to the triumph of Srivijaya and Majapahit, while marking the end of this era, many different kinds of tribes and cultures in Indonesia such as Java, Madurese, Batak, Dayak, Asmat, Balinese, etc. Indonesia’s independence in August, 17, 1945.
